Liverpool have now gone three Premier League games without a goal after drawing 0-0 with Manchester United on Sunday.
This has been a tricky spell for the Reds. After drawing 1-1 with West Bromwich Albion, Liverpool could only draw 0-0 at Newcastle United before losing 1-0 at Southampton.
Goals are hard to come by right now, and Liverpool couldn’t break bitter rivals United down in what was another frustrating game.
Liverpool sit fourth and are just three points off top spot, so this is hardly a nightmare situation for Jurgen Klopp, but there also isn’t much to shout about right now either.
Jamie Carragher did at least find something to praise, and was the performance and overall quality of Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson.
The Brazilian made a fine save to deny Bruno Fernandes from close range, and then managed to beat away a Paul Pogba strike from inside the box.

Those saves were vital for Liverpool, and Carragher (Sky Sports, 83rd minute) suggested that ‘everyone would agree’ that Alisson is the best goalkeeper in the league.
Carragher feels that those two saves kept Liverpool alive in the game against United, and his importance cannot be overstated in what has been a some clunky period for the Reds.
“This season, Liverpool haven’t looked like the best team in the league as they did last season, but I think everyone would agree that they’ve got the best keeper in the league,” said Carragher. “His two saves have kept Liverpool in the game,” he added.
