Gary Lineker has praised Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on Twitter for his heroics against Newcastle United this evening.

Aubameyang was in action for Arsenal in their Premier League game against Newcastle at the Emirates Stadium in North London tonight.

The Gabon international striker found the back of the net five minutes into the second half and then again in the 77th minute.

Thomas Partey found Aubameyang with a long ball, and the 31-year-old beat Emil Krafth in a one-on-one and fired home for his first goal.

The Arsenal star added to his tally in the 77th minute when he smashed the ball in from close range.

As reported by BBC Sport, the former Borussia Dortmund striker has now scored in four successive games against Newcastle in all competitions.

Aubameyang has been struggling for goals this season, but the striker appears to be getting back his old form, and that can only be good news for Arsenal, who are very much in the race for the Champions League places in the Premier League table this season.

Former Tottenham Hotspur and England international striker Lineker was following the match, and he has praised Aubameyang on Twitter.
