Arsenal chose to sell goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, but now find themselves looking for another shot-stopper just months on.

Martinez was sold to Aston Villa as he pursued more first-team football, and Arsenal brought in Runar Runarsson from Dijon in a move that hasn’t really worked out.

The Icelandic stopper was brought in on the recommendation of his former Nordsjaelland goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana, but he endured a nightmare display against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup last month.

That means Arsenal are already looking for another goalkeeper to challenge Bernd Leno, with Barcelona’s Norberto Neto now thought to be a target.

Dharmesh Sheth reported on Sky Sports (13/01/21, 5:05pm) that Arsenal are looking to sign Neto, in a deal that would be worth around £18million.

That’s a fair outlay for Arsenal this month, and it remains to be seen whether they can find the money to spend on the 31-year-old stopper.

So what do Arsenal fans think? Well many believe that Neto is a solid goalkeeper who can provide valuable depth in goal, urging the club to ‘get him’.

Others realised that Neto’s agent is Kia Joorabchian, and that didn’t go down well with fans who are sick of his players being signed by Edu, believing they should be getting rid of Joorabchian players rather than bringing in more.
