In one of the shock rumours of the January transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with taking Christian Eriksen back.
The Denmark international left Spurs to join Inter Milan in an £18 million deal last January.
But it’s been a rotten 12 months for the former Ajax playmaker under Antonio Conte, with the Italian seemingly deeming him surplus to requirements in Italy.
Consequently, Eriksen has been linked with a return to the Premier League and Tottenham, among others, are reportedly keen.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the Lilywhites are interested, but chairman Daniel Levy wants him back without a loan fee.
The report adds that if the North Londoners do sign him, they’re determined to not pay for anything for the temporary agreement.
Jose Mourinho’s side definitely need some creativity because every so often, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min find themselves with their hands tied – like, say, in the 1-1 draw with Fulham in midweek, for example.
But it seems like the priority for Tottenham this month is a centre-back, going by the speculation, so time will tell whether a creative midfielder is also on the agenda.
