West Ham United are interested in signing Alassane Plea from Borussia Moenchengladbach in the January transfer window, according to The Mirror.
It has been reported that Plea is an option for West Ham, who could potentially move for the 27-year-old, who can operate as a forward or as a winger.
The report has added that although West Ham are interested in signing Joshua King from Bournemouth in the January transfer window, they are not willing to meet the Norway international forward’s wage demands.
Good signing for West Ham United?
According to The Mirror, Plea has recovered from injury and is playing well at the moment.
The France international has made six starts and six substitute appearances in the Bundesliga for Monchengladbach so far this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist in the process, according to WhoScored.
The 27-year-old has also scored five goals and provided three assists in six Champions League games this season, according to WhoScored.
The 27-year-old is at the top of his game now and would be able to make an immediate impact at the London Stadium.
Plea is rated very highly, with German legend Lothar Matthaus telling Sky Germany in May 2020 that “he appears in various positions in attack and is therefore difficult for the defenders to pick up” and “has tremendous speed with the ball”, as covered by HITC Sport at the time.
