Chris Wilder has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur’s Jose Mourinho is his ‘favourite’ manager in the Premier League.
Mourinho is gearing up for a trip to the struggling Blades on Sunday afternoon.
Wilder’s side have only won once in the Premier League this season – a victory over Newcastle in midweek – and there are certainly easier tests than Tottenham, who were top of the table at one point in December.
Not only do Spurs have some world-class players, but in the Portuguese they have a coach who has won the Champions League on two occasions, as well as winning the Premier League three times.
And Wilder, speaking to Press Association, has revealed that he couldn’t have any more respect for the former Chelsea and Manchester United boss.
He said: “He’s my favourite current manager in the Premier League, amongst a load of really fabulous managers, but I really like him. The Premier League is full of top managers but for me he is the best in the business. He makes players winners as well as being the ultimate winner himself.”
Wilder’s side beat Tottenham 3-1 in this fixture last season and despite being rooted to the foot of the Premier League table ahead of this meeting, the North Londoners won’t be taking anything for granted.
This is a team who drew 1-1 with Fulham on Wednesday night, so despite Mourinho and the likes of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, the Lilywhites have frailties which United could well exploit.
