Las Palmas have been offered the chance to sign striker Rafa Mujica from Leeds United during the January transfer window, president Miguel Angel Ramirez has told AS.
After a sluggish start to life at Real Oviedo, the 22-year-old frontman must have felt the breakthrough had arrived in mid-December.
Mujica finally proved his worth with a match-winning brace in the Copa del Rey first round victory over CD Coria.
Oviedo coach Jose Angel Ziganda even admitted after the five-goal thriller he was keen to see the former Barcelona youngster stay at the Estadio Carlos Tartiere beyond the winter window (El Desmarque).
But, a month on from that heroic performance, it seems Mujica is closer than ever to bringing a premature end to his time with Oviedo.
What’s more, the Leeds-owned striker looks set to join a club sitting three places and two points ahead of Oviedo in the Spanish second-tier table.

“He is on our agenda, like (Leganes attacker) Dani Ojeda,” says Ramirez, president and majority shareholder of Las Palmas.
“They are footballers who have been offered to us.”
Ramirez adds there’s no deal in place to bring Mujica to the Canary Islands but, with two weeks left before the February transfer deadline, Las Palmas have no need to rush into anything.
Mujica joined Leeds in 2019 but has yet to make a single first-team appearance under Marcelo Bielsa.
