Some Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to head coach Marcelo Bielsa’s comments on Kiko Casilla.

Casilla has come under criticism for his performance for Leeds against Crawley Town in the third round of the FA Cup last weekend.

The 34-year-old goalkeeper was at fault for two of the goals that the Premier League club conceded, as the Whites suffered an embarrassing 3-0 defeat.

While Illan Meslier is likely to be drafted back into the starting lineup for this weekend’s Premier League game, head coach Bielsa has launched a strong defence of Casilla.

The Argentine said about Casilla, as quoted on SkySports: “I fully trust in Kiko and I will do the utmost possible to help him. I think that the treatment he suffered ignores the fact that he played 40 games for Real Madrid. Apart from whether his performances were good or bad, we forget all the things he has done to get the team promoted.”

Some Leeds fans have given their take on Twitter to Bielsa’s comments on Casilla.

Below are some of the best comments:

Second-choice goalkeeper

With Leeds out of the FA Cup, it is hard to see Casilla get too many chances for the Whites between now and the end of the season.

Meslier is the first-choice goalkeeper at Elland Road now, and if the Frenchman does not get injured or suspended, then it is very likely that he will play all of Leeds’s remaining Premier League games this season.
