Is Downfalls High going to be on Netflix? Here’s how to watch the 2021 Machine Gun Kelly movie musical online.

Many music lovers will argue that 2020 was a terrific year for releases, with new albums from Deftones, Taylor Swift, Phoebe Bridgers and many more popular acts.

For pop-punk fans, the spotlight was firmly on Machine Gun Kelly’s Tickets To My Downfall back in September, with 30-year-old Richard Colson Baker’s fanbase heralding the artist’s transition into a new sound.

Such tracks as ‘bloody valentine’ and ‘my ex’s best friend (with blackbear)’ continue to entice new listeners, and to celebrate the album even further, a movie musical has arrived!

Machine Gun Kelly and MOD SUN have directed Downfalls High, a film which centres on a couple in high school, narrated by Richard and Travis Barker.

Young Hollywood highlights that it was shot in October 2020 and the final trailer recently arrived.

Is Downfalls High going to be on Netflix? How to watch

  • No, Downfalls High is not releasing on Netflix but will be available on YouTube and through the film’s website on Friday, January 15th 2021.

The 2021 movie premieres online at 6pm PST / 9pm EST.

It will feature a number of cameos, with the likes of Maggie Lindemann, Omer Fedi, Trippie Redd, blackbear, Iann Dior and more set to appear and perform.

As for what to expect, Young Hollywood addresses that MOD SUN, in charge of the film’s score, revised a number of the tracks from Tickets To My Downfall to help fit the tone and create a new experience for those familiar with the record.

Speaking to Rock Sound, he said: “Travis Barker sent me every layer of every song, so what I wanted to do was give the listener [a new experience]. […] I’m not, like, going and orchestrating new things over it, but I am taking different parts of the songs and putting [them] where they don’t ‘belong,’ per se.”
