Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to express their feelings after Mauricio Pochettino won his first trophy with Paris Saint-Germain.
The Argentine lifted the Trophée des Champions last night after his side beat Marseille by two goals to one.
The Trophée des Champions is effectively France’s version of the Community Shield in England.
It sees the winners of Ligue 1 and the winners of the Coupe de France battle it out for what is basically a French Super Cup.
The match against Marseille was only Pochettino’s third game in charge since replacing Thomas Tuchel at the Parc des Princes.
After hearing the news, some Tottenham fans on Twitter seem quite upset.
While others were happy for Pochettino, some are saddened by the fact that he didn’t win anything in five years at Tottenham, but already has silverware in Paris after a matter of weeks.
Additionally, perhaps the disappointment of drawing to Fulham added to their sadness surrounding the situation.
In truth, we don’t even think Pochettino will be claiming the Trophée des Champions as his own achievement.
PSG were only partaking in the showpiece event thanks to the work of Tuchel, his predecessor.
Let’s see what the Spurs fans on Twitter have been saying about Pochettino’s accomplishment…
Fairly sickening that Poch could win his first trophy with PSG after just 11 days… pic.twitter.com/yFrMLJQ29w— Hunter Godson (@HunterGodson) January 13, 2021
Poch wins a trophy after a couple of weeks in charge at PSG and we draw at home to Fulham. We really are cursed…— The Spurs Express (@TheSpursExpress) January 13, 2021
