Arsenal and Liverpool target Yves Bissouma has no plans to leave Brighton and Hove Albion this month and will only consider offers in the summer, according to FootMercato.
Since reports emerged six weeks ago linking a pair of Premier League giants with the Mali international, Bissouma has barely been out of the gossip columns.
Despite Brighton boss Graham Potter trying to stop the speculation from spreading, the former Lille star has replaced Ben White as Albion’s most widely admired performer.
FM is the latest publication to link Liverpool and Arsenal with £30 million-rated Bissouma, who has apparently been lined up to replace out-of-contract Gini Wijnaldum at Anfield.
Wijnaldum will become a free agent in July (ESPN).
However, with FM reporting Bissouma will wait until the summer before taking a step up the footballing ladder, it seems Brighton fans can breathe a sigh of relief – for now at least.
The 24-year-old, whose superb passing range and boundless energy have made him a key part of Potter’s plans, won’t leave the Seagulls in the lurch during what may be a nerve-shredding relegation battle.
Liverpool’s best-laid plans could be scuppered, however, by claims Bissouma would prefer to join his close friends Nicolas Pepe and Gabriel Magalhaes at Arsenal (Football London).
