Well, West Ham United need a striker – and fast.
The East Londoners cut their losses last week by selling Sebastien Haller to Ajax for less than half of the £45 million they paid to sign the big forward 18 months ago.
Even though Haller had struggled in a big way for West Ham, scoring a total of 10 goals, David Moyes absolutely must replace him.
And if rumours are believed, they could sign a better striker for an absolute bargain fee.
Sky Sports News reported on Wednesday that the Hammers were keen on Reims hitman Boulaye Dia.
That report added that the 24-year-old would cost them only £10 million.
And considering Dia’s potential, it’s a potential steal for West Ham and Moyes.
That’s because the Senegalese marksman has 12 goals in 17 Ligue 1 outings this season. For context, Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain also has 12.
Mbappe has played two less games [Dia has 17 league appearances this season] but reported Irons target has a better shot conversion of rate – 44 percent v 29 percent.
Even during pandemic times, £10 million isn’t a massive amount of money for a player keeping pace with a star like Mbappe and West Ham should be all over this.
