According to the Daily Record, Rangers face a battle with Oxford United for the signature of Aberdeen winger Scott Wright.
Sky Sports reported earlier this week that Rangers are plotting a pre-contract agreement for Wright, who is out of contract in the summer.
The Scottish Sun note that Aberdeen actually expect Wright to be a Rangers player this month, and The Glasgow Times suggest a swap deal involving Greg Stewart is possible.

Now, it’s stated that Rangers aren’t alone in the race for Wright, because English League One side Oxford United are also keen.

Oxford have raided the Scottish market to sign the likes of Sean Clare and Alex Rodriguez Gorrin in recent times, and may fancy adding Wright.
Boss Karl Robinson has a close relationship with Steven Gerrard, and his Oxford side even faced Rangers in a pre-season friendly in 2019.
The pair now go head-to-head for Wright, and Rangers certainly won’t want to miss out to the third-tier side.
With European football and a stay in Scotland on offer, Wright would surely pick Rangers – but Oxford still pose a threat to the Gers’ hopes of a deal.
