Ian Wright has slammed Newcastle United forward Joelinton on the Wrighty’s House podcast and had some harsh words about their attack.
Newcastle have struggled to find a route to goal this season and drew a blank against Arsenal in the FA Cup at the weekend.
Newcastle also failed to hit the back of the net last night, as they were beaten 1-0 by Sheffield United.
And Wright feels that Newcastle have made an awful mistake by bringing Joelinton to St. James’ Park for such a large fee last summer.
“When you watch Newcastle they literally haven’t got anything going forward,” Wright said.
“Almiron is meant to be that one. Yes, they have Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser, once he gets fit.
“But you look at Joelinton and, honestly! We were talking about him and Pepe, that’s £110 million.

“When you’re talking about output that’s a lot of money on those two players who, with all due respect, are not delivering.”
Joelinton has been given plenty of time to impress at Newcastle, but still has just three Premier League goals to his name.
The Brazilian has never lived up to his price tag since stepping foot on Tyneside, and he continues to struggle for goals this time around.
Newcastle’s defeat to Sheffield United last night was particularly alarming, as it leaves them looking nervously over their shoulders.
The Blades had not won a game all season, but were fully deserved winners against Newcastle and Steve Bruce has now fallen under huge pressure from supporters again.
