According to Football.London, Gedson Fernandes is still expected to leave Tottenham Hotspur this month despite starting against Marine on Sunday.
Spurs thrashed the non-league side 5-0 in the third round of the FA Cup, with Carlos Vinicius grabbing a hat-trick whilst Alfie Devine made history by becoming the club’s youngest-ever goalscorer.
The game also saw Fernandes make a rare start in midfield, having barely been seen in a Spurs shirt this season.

The 22-year-old hasn’t played a single Premier League game, and this was just his second appearance of the season in all competitions.
Fernandes has fallen way down the Tottenham pecking order, and it’s stated that he is still expected to leave Spurs this month.

There is a £40million permanent option in Fernandes’ loan from Benfica, but there seems to be absolutely no chance of that happening.
Instead, Fernandes is likely to have his loan terminated and sent back to Benfica, almost a year since he first arrived at Tottenham on an 18-month deal.
Fernandes needs first-team football, and despite showing something in the 5-0 win over Marine, it won’t come with Tottenham, meaning his eit is still imminent.
