According to the Daily Mail, Burnley have made a first move for Everton defender Jonjoe Kenny having launched an enquiry.

It’s claimed that Kenny wants to play more first-team football, and Burnley have stepped forward as a possible destination.

Sean Dyche allegedly wants to make Kenny his first signing under new owner Alan Pace, with talks now at a ‘very early stage’.

It’s added that Dyche asked to sign Kenny last year, but Everton wouldn’t sell – and instead loaned him out to Schalke.

The 23-year-old starred at Schalke, but hasn’t really kicked on this season, making just one Premier League start for Everton this season, with the report noting that Carlo Ancelotti is unconvinced by him.

Kenny recorded two goals and three assists at Schalke last season, showing his attacking ability that has seemingly attracted Dyche.

Burnley do already have Matthew Lowton and Phil Bardsley, but both of them are out of contract at the end of the season.

Kenny could become Burnley’s first-choice right back of the future, but much will depend on whether Everton can find a replacement to allow a deal this month.
