Nick Tsaroulla has admitted to the Guardian that he wishes he could have stayed at Tottenham Hotspur, but he is now convinced that ‘everything happens for a reason’.
Tsaroulla came through Tottenham’s academy system, but was let go two years ago, after he suffered with injury following a car crash.
The youngster’s career in professional football, at that point, looked to be in doubt.
But he has started to find his feet at Crawley Town now, and scored a brilliant goal in the FA Cup at the weekend, as the League Two side knocked out Leeds United.
Tsaroulla now admits that he still wishes he was kept on by Spurs, but he is looking very brightly at the future.
“I just want to enjoy my time at Crawley and do everything I can for this club. Maybe everything does happen for a reason,” he said.
“I would have loved to have stayed on at Spurs and played there but those lessons and what happened … I was able to do what I did against Leeds.”

Tsaroulla has seen the likes of Japhet Tanganga and Oliver Skipp, who he played with at youth level, develop into first-team players at Spurs now.
The 21-year-old is still of an age where he could fight his way back into the Premier League, though.
And a few more headline grabbing goals like the one he scored against Leeds at the weekend will certainly help him on that mission.
