Rumours are flooding Twitter that Billie Eilish and Rosalía are finally releasing their long-awaited track this month.

Barcelona-born flamenco singer Rosalía has recently been making quite an impact in America. After releasing two albums in Spain, she was nominated for a 2019 Grammy Award in two categories, Best New Artist and Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album, winning the latter.

Back in 2019, she revealed that she was collaborating on a track with Billie Eilish as part of her third album, and fans were hugely excited. Now, almost two years later, rumours are flooding Twitter that the song is finally complete and due to be released this month.

Rumours say Billie Eilish and Rosalía will release a song this month

Over the past day, Billie Eilish fans have been going crazy after a very exciting rumour emerged on Twitter. No one knows where the rumour actually came from, but people are claiming that Billie Eilish and Rosalía are releasing their song this month!

The song is allegedly called “Lo Vas A Olvidar”, which translates into English as “you will forget them”, and it is said to be the first track on Rosalía’s new album.

Billie and Rosalía have not yet made an official announcement about the track, but rumours say it will be released on January 21st.

Fans have been waiting for the Billie Eilish and Rosalía collab since 2019

Back in 2019, Rosalía and Billie Eilish both revealed in separate interviews that they were recording a song together, but they never gave any clues at to when it would be released.

Whilst at the Primavera Sound music festival in May of that year, Rosalía revealed to Rolling Stone that they started recording the track in March 2019, and she opened up about how much she loved working with Billie.

Describing the experience as a highlight of her career so far, she said that she “felt less alone” whilst in the studio with her before saying:

“She’s an artist with such a strong drive, who knows exactly who she is and what she wants, who pours her soul out when she sings… I’ve been in the studio with a lot of people, but no one has impressed me [the way] she has. She has extreme charisma and extreme passion when she sings.”

At that time, they had only had one recording session together, and no more updates about the song were revealed until over a year later.

In April 2020, Rosalía revealed some more details about her highly-anticipated collaboration with Billie and hinted that the song was “getting close” to being complete. In an interview with Apple Music’s Zayne Lowe, she said:

“During these two last weeks, I have been trying to finish the Billie Eilish collab. I think it’s getting quite close. I think that yesterday I finished the arrangements. I feel like the production, the sound design is almost done, so I just need Billie to send the vocals and they send me the ideas that they want to add because we are there.”

Almost another whole year later, rumours that the song is finally complete are flooding Twitter.

Fans want Billie to sing in Spanish

It’s previously been revealed that the track is written and performed in half English and half Spanish. Whilst we can assume that Billie would sing the English parts and Rosalia the Spanish, fans are hoping that Billie sings some of the Spanish lyrics.

Years ago, Billie posted a video of herself singing a cover of Carla Morrison’s ‘Eres Tu’, which is why everyone wants her to sing in Spanish on the collaboration.

However following the cover, Billie revealed that she doesn’t actually speak Spanish, which shocked a lot of fans as her pronunciation was absolutely perfect.

One fan wrote on Twitter: “Oh my god I’m gonna pass away if Billie’s singing in Spanish.”

“IT’S REAL GUYS. I’m not ready omg Billie Eilish singing in Spanish >>>>>,” saI THINK EVERYONE’S BIGGEST QUESTION IS IF BILLIE IS GONNA SING IN SPANISH?!!?? IF YES, LORD HAVE MERCY,” said another.

Nobody currently knows whether Billie will take any of the Spanish parts, but if the rumours are true, you’ll only have to wait until January 21st to find out!
