Tottenham Hotspur are through to the fourth round of the FA Cup having thrashed Marine 5-0 on Sunday evening.

Spurs were given a potential banana skin with a trip to Crosby, but a rotated Tottenham side coasted through in the end.

Carlos Vinicius bagged a close-range brace, Lucas Moura curled home a fine free kick and Vinicius completed his hat-trick with a sublime lob.

Then came quite the moment; Tottenham introduced Alfie Devine at half time, giving the 16-year-old his first-team debut.

Devine became the youngster player to ever play a senior game for Spurs, breaking the record set by Dane Scarlett in November 2020.

Not only did Devine come on, but he then went and scored, cutting inside from the left before firing a right-footed strike low into the net.

That’s a big moment for Devine as he looks to make an impact, and Spurs will feel justified in their decision to sign him from Wigan Athletic for around £500,000 over the summer.

Wigan fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts, with some happy for Devine, with a real ‘bitter sweet’ moment given how cheaply he was sold.

Some wish that Devine was still at Wigan, admitting that the goal was a ‘killer’ for them and ‘like a punch in the face’, even branding Devine ‘generational’.
