According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Tottenham Hotspur have begun talks to sign Stuttgart attacker Nicolas Gonzalez.
It’s noted that Leeds United were keen on signing Gonzalez over the summer, but some of Europe’s top clubs are now interested.
Spurs are thought to have started discussions about a deal, though the talks are at a preliminary stage as things stand.
Juventus are also pursuing Gonzalez though, and have similarly started negotiations ahead of a possible move for the Argentinian.
Stuttgart would allegedly want a fee of around €30million (£27million) for Gonzalez, and it remains to be seen whether anybody can afford that this month in light of the global pandemic.
Gonzalez, 22, has smashed five goals and two assists in just 10 Bundesliga games this season, becoming one of the Bundesliga’s top attackers.

The former Argentinos Juniors man hit 14 goals in 27 league outings last term, and is now a regular starter for Argentina on the international stage.
Capable of playing up front or out wide, Gonzalez could be a versatile attacking threat for Spurs, but beating Juventus to his signature won’t be easy.
