According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic recruitment chief Nick Hammond watched Declan Gallagher in action on Saturday.
Gallagher was in action for Motherwell in their 1-1 draw with St. Mirren away from home in the Scottish Premiership yesterday.
The report has claimed that Hammond watched the 29-year-old centre-back, as the defending Scottish Premiership champions are looking for cover following the injury to Christopher Jullien.
The Daily Record reported earlier this month that the Hoops are interested in Gallagher, and that the experienced defender himself is open to a move to Celtic Park.
Good signing for Celtic?
Gallagher is one of the better central defenders in the Scottish Premiership and has a lot of experience.
The 29-year-old is at the top of his game at the moment and would make the Hoops a better team at the back.
Described by Celtic youth chief Chris McCart as “an exceptional player” in The Daily Record in November 2020, the Scotland international could make an immediate impact at the Hoops if he joined them this month.
Celtic are as many as 19 points behind leaders Rangers in second place in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment, but they do have three games in hand.
