Fabrizio Romano has said on GiveMeSport that reported Liverpool target David Alaba is looking for €12 million (£10.81 million) per season as salary.
The well-known and well-respected journalist had earlier reported in The Guardian that Liverpool are pushing hard to sign the Bayern Munich star.
Alaba, who is a very versatile footballer and can operate as a central midfielder, right and left winger, centre-back or left-back, is out of contract at the defending German and European champions at the end of the season.
Romano said about Alaba on GiveMeSport: “What Alaba is asking is €12 million (£10.81 million) per season as salary, with add-ons. It is a big salary, and you have to pay commissions, huge commissions to the agent when they sign this kind of free agent.”

Alaba is one of the best players in the world and, at the age of 28, is at the peak of his game.

The Austria international is a serial winner, having clinched the Bundesliga title nine times and the Champions League twice with Bayern.
Alaba would form a superb partnership with Virgil van Dijk in central defence, and his versatility to play in midfield would also give manager Jurgen Klopp another valuable option in the team.
If a player like Alaba becomes available next summer as a free agent, then Liverpool should do their best to sign him.
Meanwhile, Goal.com has reported that Liverpool’s initial offer of €25 million (£22.53 million) for Schalke full-back Nuno Mendes has been turned down, but the Reds remain interested in him.
