Fabrizio Romano has told GiveMeSport that Leeds United will have to pay €40 million (£36.05 million) if they want to sign Rodrigo De Paul.

The Sun has reported that Leeds are interested in signing De Paul from Udinese.

The report in the British tabloid has claimed that Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa is in two minds whether to make a bid for his Argentine compatriot now or wait until the summer of 2021.

The Premier League club are also reported to have been interested in securing the services of the 26-year-old – who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger – in the summer of 2020.

Well-known and well-respected journalist Romano, who works for The Guardian and SkySport, has claimed that Udinese will not send De Paul out on loan and will only sell him for €40 million (£36.05 million).

Romano told GiveMeSport: “De Paul is €40 million (£36.05 million) or nothing. I think it is really, really difficult. Impossible (he will go out on loan). Udinese won’t send him on loan.”

Unlikely Leeds United transfer?

It is hard to see Leeds spend €40 million (£36.05 million) on an attacking player in the middle of the season when they are not actually in need of one.

Pablo Hernandez, Rodrigo, Jack Harrison and Raphinha are very good attacking players who are doing well at the moment.
