Goal.com journalist Charles Watts has claimed on his Youtube channel that Arsenal have a very good relationship with the agents of Emiliano Buendia.

Watts, who is the Arsenal correspondent for Goal.com and has over 44,000 subscribers on his Youtube channel, has said that the Gunners have scouted the Norwich City attacking midfielder for the past two seasons.

Watts said on his YouTube channel: “Arsenal have got very, very good relationships with Buendia and his agents, Buendia’s agents, sorry, same agency as Emi Martinez, Alexis Sanchez as well, and are in regular contact with them.

“They have been long-term admirers of Buendia. They have watched him regularly during the last couple of seasons. He was right high up in the rankings when he came to the former scouting department.”

Emiliano Buendia speculation

Buendia has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal from Norwich in the January transfer window.

According to Eurosport, the Gunners will have to pay at least £25 million for the Argentine, while The Athletic’s David Ornstein has reported that although the North London club want him, they are not going to pay £40 million for him.

TalkSPORT has reported that Championship club Norwich want at least £40 million for Buendia.

Potential Mesut Ozil replacement

With the future of Ozil uncertain, Arsenal could do with a replacement attacking midfielder.

While Emile Smith Rowe is emerging as a very good creative midfielder, it must be remembered that he is only 20 years of age.

Buendia has experience of playing in the Premier League with Norwich, and given that he is 24, he would be a good long-term signing.
