According to a report in The Athletic, Wolves have been offered the chance to sign Christian Eriksen from Inter Milan this month.
Eriksen has been linked with a plethora of Premier League clubs this month, including Tottenham and Arsenal, but it’s Wolves who have been offered the Danish midfielder.
The 28-year-old is a player every Premier League fan knows well after his impressive stint with Tottenham that came to an end this time last year, and it’s fair to say he was a top player on his day.
Indeed, Eriksen has previously been described as a ‘creative genius’ by Glenn Hoddle back in September 2020, while he’s also one of the best long-range shooters the league has ever seen, even outperforming Wolves’ Ruben Neves in that metric for a period.
Unfortunately, it’s unlikely that we’re going to see Eriksen at Molineux anytime soon with the report also stating that the Midlands outfit have turned down the opportunity to sign the midfielder, with their pursuit for a striker taking priority over bolstering their midfield.
Whether or not this is a mistake is up for debate, but when you look at the other clubs that have been linked with a move, you have to say that Wolves may have missed out on something of a coup with this one.
However, the fact that Inter even contacted Wolves about Eriksen is a testament to how much they’ve grown as a club in the past three years.
