West Ham United are interested in signing Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal in the January transfer window, according to The London Evening Standard.

It has been reported that West Ham are tracking the former Leeds United loanee as a potential replacement for Sebastien Haller, who has left for Ajax for £20 million.

The Hammers are keen to know if Premier League and London rivals Arsenal would be open to letting the 21-year-old striker leave, according to the report published this evening.

Eddie Nketiah to West Ham United?

Nketiah is only 21 years of age, but the striker has a lot of potential, with his manager Mikel Arteta telling Arsenal’s official website in June 2020 that he is “extraordinary at his age” and “has an immense personality to play, confidence, he’s powerful and is developing in every area”.

It is hard to see the Gunners willing to send the youngster out on loan or sell him on a permanent basis in the January transfer window.

After all, the North London club are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table and are also in the knockout rounds of the Europa League.

Nketiah has established himself in the first-team squad, scoring one goal and providing one assist in 310 minutes in the Premier League and scoring three goals in six Europa League matches for the Gunners so far this season, according to WhoScored.
