According to Foot Mercato, Newcastle have made an enquiry to AS Monaco over the availability of Djibril Sidibé.
The 18-cap France international – who won the World Cup in 2018 – is also of interest to Ligue 1 outfit Olympique Marseille.

Foot Mercato state that AS Monaco are looking for a fee in the region of €5 million to €7 million (£4.5 million to £6.3 million) to part ways with Sidibé.
Newcastle supporters may be familiar with the 28-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Everton, where he made 18 Premier League starts.
Foot Mercato say that the Toffees even wanted to keep the right-back, but AS Monaco needed cash and were not interested in another loan, which was Everton’s proposal.

While Carlo Ancelotti was clearly happy with the defender’s efforts on the basis he tried to sign him again, one incident last term left him furious.
When getting ready to come on against Crystal Palace, the Frenchman forget to put on one of his socks.
It wasn’t even on the bench with him, as Sidibé had left it in the dressing room!
After the incident, Sky Sports ran a story claiming that Ancelotti was furious with the defender’s forgetfulness, as Everton only had ten men at that point.
Hopefully, if Sidibé does sign for Newcastle, he doesn’t infuriate Steve Bruce in similar fashion!
