However, the Red Devils kept him against his will.
Eliana Guercio – the goalkeeper’s wife – accused the Red Devils of lacking respect for her husband when denying him a move away, as the Manchester Evening News document.
Romero has lost his spot as David de Gea’s understudy to Dean Henderson.
Additionally, his contract expires in June, so it very much seems as if his time in Manchester is coming to an end.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have given the 33-year-old permission to train in Argentina this month.
If he is unable to arrange a transfer imminently, he will be expected back at Carrington, as the Manchester Evening News state.
As ESPN revealed, Everton were keen to sign the Argentine to provide competition for Jordan Pickford.
In regards to Leeds, ESPN said Marcelo Bielsa’s side were keen as they looked to bolster their squad ahead of a first Premier League campaign in 16 years.
It remains to be seen if either side go back in for Romero, although if they are still interested, it very much looks like a deal would be possible.
