Sam Allardyce is hoping to make West Ham United winger Robert Snodgrass his first signing at West Bromwich Albion, as reported by the Express and Star.
This is not the first time ‘Big Sam’ has attempted to link up with the versatile Scotland international. Far from it.
The Mirror reported as far back as 2013 that Snodgrass, then of Norwich City, was a target for Allardyce’s West Ham.
The former Leeds United star did end up wearing claret and blue of course, moving to the London Stadium in 2017. Allardyce was long gone by then, however, having been handed his P45 by the Hammers two years earlier.
But with the new Baggies boss determined to bring in experienced, battle-scarred campaigners ahead of what promises to be a grueling relegation battle, Allardyce is back on the blower to an old flame.

The Express and Star reports that West Ham are willing to sell the £10 million wideman, given that he is out of contract in the summer and has played just a handful of Premier League minutes this season.
At 33, Snodgrass would hardly be a long-term solution but, with West Brom rapidly drifting away from the safety line, who can blame the Baggies for thinking short-term instead?
