Genshin Impact has been a blast to play since day one, and update 1.2 has delivered us the character Albedo as well as the Dragonspine area. While fans have Ganyu to look forward to with a new trailer that asks players to walk with her, a lot of the community is confused about the Chalk Prince and Dragon event which has resulted in the following question: who is Rhinedottir? Here you’ll find everything known and guessed about Rhinedottir in Genshin Impact.

While Ganyu is coming to the game in the very near future, miHoYo’s roadmap for 2020 implies that update 1.3 will arrive in February. While we don’t officially know what’s to come of update 1.3, leaks suggest that two new playable characters could be Xiao and Hu Tao.

Although the arrival of Xiao and Hu Tao isn’t confirmed, what is official is a mysterious character named Rhinedottir. Very little is known about this mysterious being, but below you’ll find everything that has been shared.

Who is Rhinedottir in Genshin Impact?

Rhinedottir in Genshin Impact is a mysterious character said to be Albedo’s master.

Albedo referred to the mysterious Rhinedottir in Genshin Impact as his master, and he also asked if the giant dragon Durin is their creation.

This comes via Act 5 of the Chalk and Dragon Prince event which includes the following monologue from Albedo:

“This Dragon’s life force resonates within me…

Not because it’s a dragon, but because I am… me.

Rhinedottir…. Master… is this your creation, the giant dragon Durin?

Was the two of us meeting really a good thing?”

The above monologue is all we officially know about Rhinedottir in Genshin Impact. The theory is that Rhinedottir created Durin first and then Albedo, but there’s an alchemy theory which suggests that the mysterious character might also have two other creations.

Another guess by some is that Rhinedottir could be the alchemist Gold which corrupted Durin, but this has been a hot point of contention on Reddit thanks to debates about the supposed gender of Gold and Albedo’s master.

In addition to all of the above, it’s also theorised that Albedo is an homonculus created by his master, and this theory stems from his Elemental Burst being, Homoncular Nature, as well as because he said he might lose control.

While all of the above is speculation apart from the official monologue by Albedo, it’s likely we’ll eventually meet Rhinedottir via later updates.
