Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after Fanatik revealed that Juventus defender Merih Demiral is in Jose Mourinho’s sights.

The Turkish news outlet state that the 22-year-old is also wanted by Liverpool and Leicester, while Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are keen.

Demiral is keen to leave the Allianz Stadium with EURO 2021 on the horizon.

The 19-cap Turkey international is struggling for game time under Andrea Pirlo, as he must compete with world-class names such as Matthijs de Ligt, Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci.

Due to Demiral’s desire to leave, Juventus have slapped a €50 million (£45.2 million) price tag on the defender’s head.

It sounds as if any interested parties must meet that sum outright, as Juventus will not entertain any loan-to-buy structured deals.

Demiral has only made nine appearances for the Italian giants this season.

However, he is a young player of great calibre, having made numerous appearances for Turkey while also winning one Serie A title.

Having said that, even Joe Rodon, who was signed from Swansea just months ago, isn’t getting much game time under Mourinho.

The Welshman has started just one Premier League game, so do Tottenham really need another centre-back? Perhaps not, in our view.

Nevertheless, let’s see how the Tottenham fans on Twitter reacted to Fanatik‘s report…
