According to Fabrizio Romano in the Guardian, Liverpool are pushing hard to sign David Alaba from Bayern Munich.
Romano states that Real Madrid are leading the race to sign the 28-year-old, although Jurgen Klopp’s side aren’t giving up.

Alaba is free to leave the Allianz Arena at the end of the season when his contract expires, as he wants to depart after 12 years at Bayern Munich.
Real Madrid have made an initial proposal to the Austria international’s representatives, amid uncertainly over Sergio Ramos’ future at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Liverpool have also made contact with Alaba’s representatives.
However, it is the nine-time Bundesliga champion’s dream to play for Real Madrid and the Spaniards are in pole position.

Romano adds that there are currently no indications that a move will happen in January, with Alaba happy to see out his contract.
If you’re not sure what type of player the Austrian is, then Pep Guardiola describing him as ‘God’ should help.
The Manchester City boss piled the significant praise on Alaba while coaching him at Bayern Munich.
Guardiola called the versatile figure ‘God’ after mentioning that he had almost played in all ten outfield positions during his reign at Bayern Munich.
In quotes provided by Sport1, the Spaniard said: ‘David Alaba is our God! He has already played almost all 10 positions.’
