Nice are interested in signing Issa Diop from West Ham United in the January transfer window, according to The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 57, January 3, 2021).
It has been reported by the British tabloid that Nice have already made a bid for the 23-year-old French central defender.
West Ham manager David Moyes has reportedly decided to let go of Diop, who has lost his place in the starting lineup.
Nice have made a loan offer for the youngster, according to the report, which has added that the move would become permanent next summer if the French club qualify for the Champions League.
Stay or leave?
Diop has made three starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League and has made one EFL Cup appearance for West Ham so far this season, according to WhoScored.
During the 2019-20 campaign, the youngster made 31 starts and one substitute appearance in the league for the Hammers, scoring three goals and providing one assist in the process, according to WhoScored.
Diop is only 23 years old now and can still get better, and perhaps Moyes should keep him for at least the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Mundo Deportivo has claimed that West Ham have made contact with Barcelona over a potential move for defender Junior Firpo.
