According to Aksam, Besiktas are interested in signing Mohamed Elneny from Arsenal in the January transfer window.

It has been reported that Besiktas will attempt to sign Elneny from Arsenal again this month.

The report has claimed that the Turkish giants have been closely monitoring the Egypt international defensive midfielder and have decided to make a move for him.

It has been added that the market value of Elneny now is €7 million (£6.32 million), which means that Arsenal could make a small profit on him.

The Gunners paid Basel £5 million to sign the Egyptian back in January 2016, as reported by The Daily Mail at the time.

Stay or leave?

Elneny spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Besiktas, and there is no surprise that the Turkish giants reportedly want him back.

The 28-year-old defensive midfielder has not been at his very best in recent games, but he started the season strongly and appears to have the faith of manager Mikel Arteta.

It would make sense for the Egyptian to continue to play for Arsenal and stay in the Premier League.

According to WhoScored, Elneny has made 10 appearances in the Premier League and has scored one goal in five Europa League games for the Gunners so far this season.
