Emile Smith Rowe has been given the nod of approval by Arsenal team-mate Mesut Ozil on Twitter.
The Gunners’ upturn in fortunes has coincided with Mikel Arteta finally giving the 20-year-old attacking midifelder a chance to impress in the Premier League.
Since coming into the first XI, Arsenal have won their last three games and scored eight goals in the process.
Arteta was crying out for some creativity from midfield after banishing Ozil from his Europa League and Premier League squad back in October.
The Germany World Cup winner has been a mere spectator for Arsenal since then, but the 32-year-old was impressed by Smith Rowe in the position that he vacated, describing him as the ‘difference maker’ after last night’s 4-0 win away to West Brom.
It’s been confirmed by Edu that Arsenal are in the market for additional creative ability in the mould of a playmaker.
But that was before Smith Rowe’s form over the past 10 days, while The Telegraph has also reported that Ozil himself continues to impress in training and Arteta will review whether or not to bring him back into the squads later this month.
Only 10 days ago, Arsenal were a 15th-placed Premier League team and couldn’t score due to creativity issues, but by the end of the month they might have Smith Rowe and Ozil vying for that role.
What a difference that could make.
