Michael Owen admitted to Premier League Productions that he was surprised by the fact that Heung-Min Son has scored 41 of his 100 goals for Tottenham with his left foot.
Throughout his time in England, Son has always showcased the ability to produce the goods with his right foot or his left foot, but that stat is something special from the versatile Spurs man.
Only perhaps Kevin de Bruyne can claim to be better than Son in regards to shooting with either foot with whatever technique, but he probably doesn’t have a record like the Tottenham man has.
Either way, former England hitman Owen, who is well aware of how to find the back of the net, hailed Tottenham’s ‘all-round’ player.
“It did [take me by surprise],” said Owen. “It shows that he’s an all-round player and I think only four with his head. It’s quite normal in this day and age because there is less and less headers.
“So, I was quite interested in that he has scored as many he has with his left foot. Very two-footed that show. I am sure mine would have been 92-8, or something like that.
“Tim [Sherwood] has called it right. He is an unbelievable player. One of the best players in the world and certainly one of the best players in the Premier League.”
Tottenham fans have been craving for a trophy for many years and this is their best chance of delivering the goods.
They have a trophy-laden coach in charge in Jose Mourinho, and added with his qualities, they have Son and Harry Kane at the peak of their powers.
Plus, with Mourinho’s ability to set up a defence and the experience he has in his backline, this is the opportunity to end their current drought.
