Some Tottenham fans on social media have been reacting after hearing reports that the club are willing to listen to offers for Lucas Moura this month.
The Brazilian hasn’t been one of Jose Mourinho’s first names on the teamsheet this season, but despite his limited appearances in the league this term, some supporters don’t want to see him go.
You can understand why fans don’t want him to depart the club, after all, there’s bound to be a lot of sentiment towards the former PSG man.
Indeed, the attacker may not have been a Spurs player for that long, but he’s provided the club with some of the most memorable performances in the club’s history, with his hat-trick away at Ajax in the Champions League semi-final being perhaps the greatest moment in Spurs’ recent history.
Unfortunately, the reality is that there is no room for sentiment at the top level, and it may be time for the London club to cash in in the Brazilian this month.
As you can imagine, this hasn’t gone down too well with the fans, but there is a case to make that it’s the right move for the greater good of the team as he’s a multi-million pound asset that has been consigned to the bench for the majority of this campaign.
