Rangers remain unbeaten after 21 Premiership matches this season

Romanian legend Gheorghe Hagi has called Rangers the ‘best in Europe’ while defending his son Ianis.
The younger Hagi has found his form in recent weeks after an inconsistent spell, and scored the winner in Rangers’ recent 1-0 win over Hibs.
His form has delighted the legendary Gheorghe, who won 124 caps for Romania and enjoyed stints at the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Galatasaray.

With 19 wins and two draws from their opening 21 league matches, Rangers have established not only a 16-point Premiership lead, but a residency at the top of Transfermarkt’s international form table.
The rankings are based on the results of teams in every top flight league across the world over the last 10 fixtures, and Steven Gerrard’s men remain on top having not dropped points since September’s 2-2 draw against Hibs.
With his son starting to play a key role at Ibrox, Gheorghe told Romanian TV station GSP: “He played and plays when the coach thinks he should.
“They have 27 players in the group. They have a very good group. In Scotland he plays every three days. He played a lot!

“He plays for a phenomenal team, the best in Europe. It is the only team that has not lost a match and the one that has scored the fewest goals.
“In Great Britain everyone talks only about Rangers.”
Reflecting on his own career, Gheorghe added: “I also went to Real Madrid and Barcelona. Once I played, other times I didn’t.
“Rangers is a great club! They have not lost a single match in the championship or in Europe. Think about it!”
“The club is satisfied with him. He is seen very well.
“During this period, if another player played, he does it because before he played less, and now he is fitter. Or maybe that’s how Gerrard sees things.”
Hagi initally arrrived at Rangers on loan from Belgian side Genk in January 2020, before signing a permanent deal in May.
