Celtic are currently 16 points behind their rivals in the title race
Paul Lambert has highlighted the pairing that can help Celtic earn a result at Ibrox.
Neil Lennon’s men are currently 16 points behind their rivals, with the season’s second derby looming on January 2.
Rangers were comfortable winners when the sides. last met in October, with the champions rarely troubling Steven Gerrard’s men in a 2-0 defeat at Celtic Park.
With 10-in-a-row on the line, Neil Lennon’s side have watched Rangers build up a significant lead. Celtic have, however, now put together three league wins on the bounce and are hoping to make it four this afternoon when they host Dundee United.
That improvement has coincided with the re-emergence of Leigh Griffiths. He linked up with Odsonne Edouard to great effect in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Hamilton Accies, and former Celtic midfielder Lambert believes that partnership will be vital at Ibrox.
Speaking on the Celtic Huddle podcast, Ipswich Town boss Lambert said: “I think Griffiths is a really good goalscorer.
“Whatever his troubles are off the pitch I don’t really know, but on the pitch he can score a goal that’s in no doubt.
“Edouard is a strange one for me. Sometimes he does great things and other times he looks like he is nowhere near it.
“If you’ve got two goalscorers on the pitch you certainly have a chance.”
Edouard has nine goals in 20 appearances for Celtic so far this season, while Griffiths has five in nine.
