Some Aston Villa fans on social media have been raving over John McGinn after his ridiculously good performance against Chelsea on Monday evening.
The Scottish midfielder was electric at Stamford Bridge, putting in an energetic display that had many fans drooling online.
We can understand why as well, the midfielder ran the show, and the only way Chelsea could really stop him was by fouling him, taking him down no fewer than six times, making McGinn by far the most fouled player on the pitch.
Seeing McGinn perform like this won’t have come as a surprise to many Villa fans, after all, we’ve seen how good he can be against teams like this last season, but this should certainly make the rest of the league sit up and take notice that McGinn is an elite midfielder at this level.
Of course, some fans were quick to get carried away with their praise, with one fan claiming that he’s better than Zidane, in homage to a song that would usually be blasted out from the Holte End, while more than one supporter said he was better than N’golo Kante, which is a big claim considering the Frenchman is a PFA Player of the Year winner.
