Ian Wright questioned on Premier League Productions why Mo Salah would want to leave Liverpool amid claims surfacing about his future.
Aside from Liverpool’s, 1-1 draw with West Brom tonight, those on Merseyside have reacted pretty well to their injury problems this season and they are still sitting top of the tree.
But that didn’t stop Jurgen Klopp from having to come out and debunk claims that his £44 million 2017 signing [The Guardian] is ‘unhappy’ at the club, as he told Sky Sports.
Former Arsenal hitman Wright thinks the current situation facing the world favours Liverpool in keeping their star man, but he doesn’t understand why he would leave.
“I was saying why would you want to leave, at the moment, for reasons other than personal because you want to go as we saw with Ronaldo go to Real Madrid,” said Wright. “It’s something that he wanted to do. It was a dream.
“But for me, at the moment, when you listen to Jurgen Klopp. He sounds very confident in the fact that he’s quite happy.
On someone paying big-money for Salah: “Especially in the pandemic,” added Wright. “You would probably be more afraid if we were in normal times because Real Madrid and Barcelona would be able to have the funds.
“You look at it now and think ‘how would they finance that deal?’”

History has proven that when the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona come knocking then those world-class Premier League stars do end up leaving.
From perhaps the greatest of them all in Cristiano Ronaldo to Luiz Suarez, who joined Barcelona.
But from a financial standpoint, it would be a surprise if Liverpool don’t demand at least £100 million plus for their player because he could even go for £200 million plus.
