Arsenal are back in action tonight as they host Manchester City in the Carabao Cup, with Mikel Arteta facing his former club.
The two sides met in October as City claimed a 1-0 win at the Etihad Stadium, but that was the Premier League – and Arsenal will hope for greater fortunes in the cup.
A place in the semi-finals is now up for grabs, and Arteta may be tempted to make some changes for tonight’s clash at the Emirates Stadium.
Some youngsters were spotted in first-team training on Monday, such as Miguel Azeez and Folarin Balogun, with the homegrown duo no doubt hoping to be included.
Two more youngsters took to Twitter on Monday to show off photos of themselves in first-team training, which may just cause some excitement.
The first was striker Nikolaj Moller, the giant 6ft 3in attacker who arrived from Malmo on deadline day in October and has already bagged three goals and one assist in six Premier League 2 games.
The Swede showed one photo that included him battling for the ball with Romanian midfielder Catalin Cirjan, who was another youngster involved.
Fellow 18-year-old Cirjan has also impressed this term with one goal and two assists in six Premier League 2 games, and has been tipped for a bright future since signing from Viitorul Domnesti in 2019.
Both teenagers will hope to be on the bench against City tonight, but their inclusion in first-team training will give fans hope of them breaking through in the coming years.
