What is the What Do You Meme filter?

A new filter is going viral on TikTok called the What Do You Meme Filter, created by the official Instagram page of the What Do You Meme board game.

The filter is a virtual version of the board game that you can play for free, but in this version you’re the meme. It gives you a phrase, and then you must create a face that goes with the sentence, essentially turning yourself into a meme.

It’s a hilarious game to play with your friends and family that’s bound to be a Christmas favourite. If you want to have a go at the game, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to find the filter.

How to find the What Do You Meme Filter

  • Open Instagram and find the profile @whatdoyoumeme. It’s a verified account that has over 230,000 followers.
  • Above the photo grid you’ll see five different icons, click on the fourth one along which is a smiley face. This will bring up the filters that this account had created.
  • Press the filter called ‘WDYM?’ and press ‘Try It’.
  • Now film your video and post it to Instagram. If you want to post the video to TikTok, simply save the video to your camera roll and then upload to TikTok.
