Is Stranger Things season 4 cancelled? There have been concerns about the Netflix series as of late, so let’s get the situation explained.

Netflix has offered audiences a wealth of notable shows over the years, from Orange Is the New Black to The Queen’s Gambit.

When discussing favourites with friends, family or other TV enthusiasts online, you often hear the same gems come up again and again. However, arguably none of the streaming service’s titles are cited more than Stranger Things.

Created by the Duffer Brothers, fans have been flocking to the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana since 2016, eagerly lapping up generous servings of eighties nostalgia.

Season 3 gave viewers a teaser of things to come with its final moments and anticipation has been undeniable ever since. Although, there have recently been concerns regarding whether the show has been cancelled or not.

Is Stranger Things season 4 cancelled? Let’s take a look…

Stranger Things season 3 2019 (21 Laps Entertainment, Monkey Massacre, Netflix 2019)

Is Stranger Things season 4 cancelled?

  • No, Stranger Things season 4 is not cancelled. It is likely to premiere in 2021.

As highlighted by ScreenRant, it was originally set to land on Netflix in early 2021. However, the COVID-19 pandemic meant that the crew had to stop filming just weeks into the process.

On the other hand, shooting resumed in September 2020 and recent reports have teased new characters and more.

While fans will be thrilled to hear that the season isn’t cancelled, the production delays will likely result in the new episodes arriving later than expected. So, rather than early 2021, it’s possible that season 4 simply will drop later on in the year.

Why are some Stranger Things fans worried?

A number of fans have vented their concerns on social media regarding the show’s cancellation and it may have something to do with the number of shows that have been cancelled in 2020.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, streaming services and networks have axed a range of shows, so audiences were worried that Stranger Things may have fallen victim to the same fate.

Fortunately, that isn’t the case.
