David Moyes is keen to see West Ham United sign Barcelona bench-warmer Junior Firpo on a loan-to-buy deal, according to Mundo Deportivo.
While the former Real Betis star is hardly the most disastrous big-money signing Barca have made during a decade full of flops, he hasn’t come close to justifying his £16 million price-tag at the underperforming Spanish giants.
Firpo has played just half an hour of La Liga football in 2020/21, failing to provide any sort of competition for the ageing Jordi Alba at left-back.
After a year-and-a-half on the Barcelona bench, Firpo appears to have come to the conclusion that he must walk away from the Camp Nou if he wants to play regular first-team football again.
Fortunately, there is no shortage of interest in a former Spain U21 international who, during his time at Real Betis, was viewed as one of the most exciting young full-backs in the game.
West Ham boss David Moyes is a fan of the athletic, attack-minded wide man, and would jump at the chance to sign Firpo on an initial loan deal in January.

The Hammers face competition from Serie A title-chasers Napoli and a Granada side who, despite being promoted to Spain’s top flight as recently as 2019, will be playing Europa League knockout-stage football next year.
Arthur Masuaku and Aaron Cresswell have produced arguably the best performances of their West Ham career this season. But that has not stopped the Premier League surprise-packages from being linked with a number of left-backs.
Firpo has apparently joined Kai Wagner of Philadelphia Union and Reading’s Omar Richards on the hit list.
