Some Liverpool fans on social media have been full of praise for 19-year-old midfielder Curtis Jones after his exceptional performance against Tottenham on Wednesday evening.
The young midfielder was entrusted to start one of the biggest games of the Reds’ season, and he was more than up to the occasion as be pulled the strings in the heart of Liverpool’s midfield.
The Reds star earned massive praise from Jurgen Klopp for his performance against Tottenham, and as you can imagine, fans on social media were quick to say how good he was.
Understandably, the 19-year-old’s performance drew some comparisons to all-time greats of the game, with some fans comparing him to a young Steven Gerrard, while other names mentioned were Zinedine Zidane, Paul Scholes and Philippe Coutinho, esteemed company for sure.
Jones has the best part of a decade and a half ahead of him in this game, and if he turns out to be as good as any of the aforementioned names, he will have an incredibly successful career.
It’s too soon to say it for certain, but he’s well on his way to becoming a top-class talent.
