According to The Scottish Sun, both Rangers and Celtic are tracking the progress of Airdrie star Thomas Robert.
It’s claimed that Celtic’s head of recruitment Nick Hammond was spotted watching Robert in action against East Fife last week.
Bhoys scout Tosh McKinlay then watched him against Montrose on Saturday, with Celtic keeping very close tabs on the Frenchman.
They’re not alone though; bitter rivals Rangers are also pursuing Robert’s signature, with Airdrie braced for bids.
Dundee United, Hearts and Hibs all want him too, with teams in England also casting admiring glances his way.
The 20-year-old turned down a new deal at Montpellier over the summer for a strange move to Scotland’s third tier.
Robert has impressed, bagging two goals and two assists in his first seven league games in Scotland, which is now attracting interest.
Celtic’s interest seems to be stronger right now, but just as Rangers are battling them for the league title, it now seems that they’re challenging for talented attacker Robert, who is the son of ex-Newcastle star Laurent Robert.
