Previous tribute from Ice Cube explained
At the time of the death hoax, Sunday (November 15th), false rumours spread on the internet claiming that Tom Lister Jr had died.
Lister regularly took to his social media handles and at the time he shared a behind-the-scenes Instagram photo from a set.
Back in November, some fans misread Ice Cube’s tribute on Twitter and Tommy became a subject of a death hoax.
Ice Cube paid his respects to someone called Big Sam, the person who inspired Deebo’s character in the movie Friday.
In his tribute, Ice Cube wrote:
Following the sad news about Tommy’s death, Ice Cube paid a touching tribute to the actor. He wrote:
“RIP Tiny “Deebo” Lister. America’s favorite bully was a born entertainer who would pop into character at the drop of a hat terrifying people on and off camera. Followed by a big smile and laugh. Thank you for being a good dude at heart. I miss you already.”
Who is Big Sam?
As Ice Cube said in his tribute, Big Sam is the person who inspired Deebo’s character in Friday.
However, Big Sam’s identity hasn’t been revealed and it remains unconfirmed if this is related to an incident in Inglewood which took place on Sunday morning.
