Actor Ewan McGregor will be reprising his role of Obi-Wan Kenobi from the prequel trilogy to star in the Disney Plus limited series, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

LucasFilms have since confirmed that the limited series will see the return of another actor from the prequel trilogy, Hayden Christensen.

Fans can barely contain their excitement and want to know more about the series which will be available on Disney Plus.

Obi- Wan Kenobi release date

Although there is no confirmed release date for the Obi-Wan Kenobi limited series, filming is set to begin in March 2021.

If there are no delays in filming, then we can expect to see the release of the limited series by early 2022.

Kathleen Kennedy, the LucasFilm chief, announced that work for the show was underway, telling The Wrap:

“We’re now developing the limited Obi-Wan Kenobi series with Deborah Chow, and she’s just been doing a phenomenal job.”

Obi-Wan Kenobi series cast revealed

Ewan McGregor will be reprising his role of Obi- Wan Kenobi, which he has played before in The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.

In December 2020, Disney confirmed that Hayden Christensen will be returning to our screens to play Anakin Skywalker.

Speaking about the limited series, Ewan McGregor said: “The most beautiful thing of all about ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ is that it’s brought me back together with Hayden Christensen.”
