Don Goodman and Keith Andrews lauded Celtic-linked Bright Osayi-Samuel on Sky Sports (09/12/20 at 7:35 pm) and how they are confident he will ‘go to the next level’.

The Queens Park Rangers winger was likened to his former teammate Eberechi Eze, who is tearing it up in the Premier League following his move from Loftus Road to Selhurst Park in the summer.

In September, the Scottish Sun reported that Celtic were planning to sign the tricky London-based attacker next summer for nothing because he is out of contract.

Well, former Wolves striker, Goodman and ex-Republic of Ireland international, Andrews, were raving about his talents.

“They did keep that fella there Bright Osayi-Samuel and that is enormous,” said Goodman. “This fella, I think he will go to the next level.

“I don’t think I have a shadow of a doubt that he will go to the next level.

On QPR hoping that they don’t lose him in January: “Well, that wouldn’t be good for Queens Park Rangers. But what he has added to his game is that end product. He has no right to be running at that speed and pick out one player in the centre.

“But he’s making good decisions when he gets into these areas [inside the penalty area]. That was possibly a slight criticism in seasons gone by.”

Andrews added: “We were both at the Hawthorns at the weekend to watch Eze tear, West Brom, to pieces. And this young man is next. He is so exciting. Don touched upon his end product. That comes with age and experience. He is QPR’s go-to guy.”

Given that Osayi-Samuel’s contract runs out in the summer, he can talk to other parties and sign a pre-contract deal with the window re-opens next month.

It will be interesting to see if Celtic go down that road, but in truth, the under-fire Neil Lennon, who might not be in charge by the time the New Year arrives, could do with his talents right now.

QPR have proven, with the sale and recent performances of Eze, that their talented academy players can do bits on a bigger stage and Celtic would be a real test for Osayi-Samuel if he decides to join.
